A Day At Balance Festival

A day in London surrounded by fellow health and fitness lovers, nut butters, exercise classes and awesome health brands?! I was definitely in!
Of course I'm talking about Balance Festival.
I headed down to London last Friday to see what the fuss and hype was all about.

I had quite high expectations of Balance Festival as it had been hyped up SO MUCH on social media, especially in the couple of weeks running up to it. Having been to Be:Fit a couple of weekends before too I was interested to see how it would be compare to it.

I arrived at the Old Truman Brewery around 10.45 all hyped and ready to be amazed! That time was pretty perfect for arriving as there were no queues so it was straight through the door :). As soon as I walked up the stairs and entered one of the many rooms I knew it was going to be a good day! There was a huge map of the festival so I quickly scanned it and kind of got my head round where everything was. The best way to find out? Just go and wander!
I spent some time walking around The Market where all of the health brands were exhibiting and sampling. I then headed to the Athleisure Village. Yes, you guessed it...activewear! I was pretty impressed that about 90% of the activewear brands there were completely new to me. I love discovering new brands so this was perfect.
I continued to wander around and find where everything was. I was taking part in an F45 Athletica class at 1.30pm and a Yoga session at 4.30pm so I wanted to find these studios so I knew where to go. I found them all pretty much instantly as everything was so well signposted.
After going full circle I decided it was time for some food. I headed to the VIP area and grabbed a quick slice of avocado toast from Bel-Air.

Now it was time to catch up with some people! I headed round and caught up with the team at Mindful Bites, Balanced Tourist and Oppo Icecream. It was also fantastic seeing Zanna Van Dijk again and also meeting Tally Rye too.
Now it was time for that F45 Athletica class. I knew it would be challenging as I have done a couple of F45 classes before but nothing had prepared me for what was about to come. The sweat was intense guys...intense. 20 seconds on with 10 seconds rest for 45 minutes was brutal! But by the end I felt on top of the world! Anyone living anywhere near an F45 needs to try Athletica if you haven't already done so.
Post workout re-fuel was courtesy of Escape Bake. All I'm going to say is Healthy Nutella Donut. That is all. Then it was to the Balanced Kitchen for some Sano to Go food! Lamb Meatball Tagine...yum!

Another wander around The Market stocking up on a few bits- Ombar chocolate in particular.
Now it was Yoga time! I was looking forward to this as I needed a bit of a stretch off after F45. I was pretty wrong about that. This Yoga was intense. All we did was 20 minutes too! I still enjoyed it though :).

My verdict?!
I truly loved it.
The classes were super organised, intense and with plenty of team spirit in there. Even though I went alone I partnered up with others and we smashed our workouts. I liked that there were a number of available spaces and then that was that. No squeezing people in until breaking point. The vibe of the festival was also really positive and chilled. The VIP area was the perfect place to have a chat with people and just chill out. Some great music from the DJ's too.
Everyone was so welcoming and made the time to chat to you too. Genuinely nice people in an awesome festival.

So in comparison to Be:Fit?
Exercise classes were 100% better organised at Balance. The general atmosphere at Balance was more chilled out and positive and it was better organised too. Don't get me wrong, Be:Fit was an awesome weekend but Balance wins it for me.
