Crunchy chocolate Hazelnut Truffles


Have you been looking for the perfect little something to make for your loved ones for Christmas this year? Or even a little something that you could have out as 'nibbles' when you have friends and family round for some festive fun? I got you...
I created these little chocolate truffles with those exact reasons in mind. You only need a few ingredients and if you ask me, Christmas isn't Christmas without some sort of chocolate truffle lying around, am I right?!

With the focus this Christmas very much on shop small, local, handmade and more sustainable Christmas gifts, these little truffles make the perfect small gift! Why spend a fortune on buying them when I promise you these taste absolutely delicious. We are fast becoming more aware of our impact on the planet and lots of us are making better choices when it comes to Christmas this year, so why not join those and create a little something full of love, and chocolate, for your friends and family.

(Makes 20-24 truffles)

150g Coconut Sugar
150g Coconut Butter
75g 75%+ Dark Chocolate
125g Chopped Hazelnuts
150ml Water
​200g Plain Granola
Zest of 1 Orange
​
Toppings-
Desiccated Coconut
Cacao Powder
Ground Nuts and Seeds

method


Boil water and sugar in a pan for 10-15 minutes; leave to cool a little.
Add chocolate and coconut butter to the water/sugar and stir until everything has melted (it will take around 15 minutes)
Add the remaining ingredients in to the now melted mixture and stir.
Pop in the fridge for an hour to set.
Remover from the fridge and make small balls of the mixture and roll in your chosen toppings, ensuring the balls are covered.
Pop on a tray and pop back in the fridge for another hour to fully set.

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 10 days.
