holy moly dips review

Holy Moly was created by two guys that simply just love dips! They didn't always have the time to create delicious homemade dips and the supermarket versions weren't anything like homemade dips, so- they set out to create their very own dips!
They wanted to create a dip that tasted like it had been made at home. That meant not using any ingredients that you wouldn't generally use at home- no added sugars, no artificial preservatives, no dairy, no powdered chilli or dried onions and no gluten.

The search for the perfect ingredients took them to Mexico- the home of the avocado. They partnered with a family-owned avocado orchard and voila! Add a few ingredients here and there and Holy Moly Dips was born!

the dips

Holy Moly currently comes in three different flavours-

Guacamole (Saintly Original)- This Guacamole is the original version. With tomatoes, onion, chilli and lime juice amongst a few other ingredients.

Guacamole (Devilishly Hot)- Just like the original but with chunks of Jalapeno chilli!

100% Pure Avocado- This is exactly what it says on the tin- pure Hass Avocado and nothing else.

my thoughts

As with any new product on the market I can be a little sceptical- especially if I know it's something that I could make at home. But, I never say never to trying new things. That's how we discover the delicious foods that are out there!
So anyway, what did I think?

Saintly Original Guacamole
I had this Guacamole as part of my lunch one day. I wanted to really taste the flavour of it so I simply had it with some wholemeal flatbread thins that I bought in Barcelona. At first I thought the texture was a little odd- a little runny perhaps- but after a few goes it was fine. I think this was only because I was eating it straight from the packet instead of popping in a bowl and mixing it up a little. The flavour was instantly great so I knew this was going to be a lovely lunch! Having been to Mexico a couple of months ago and eating loads of Guacamole I would definitely say this is up there with proper Mexican Guacamole!

Devilishly Hot Guacamole
I was a little unsure if I would like this one at first as I don't do great with hot and spicy foods. But, let me just tell you how glad I am I tried this! This is definitely my favourite flavour. It packs a punch but nothing too intense- although the more you eat the hotter it gets! I made homemade nachos to go with this one and it was really tasty! The texture of this was perfect too (because I actually took it out of the packet this time!).

100% Avocado
This product is actually perfect. When you don't have the time to search through loads of avocados in the supermarket to find that one ripe one this product is ideal. It takes all the fuss out of prepping an avocado too. All you have to do is simply open the packet and either add your own ingredients to make your own Guacamole or pop it on some toast for the classic Avo Toast. It's creamy and delicious and honestly I am so happy I have discovered Holy Moly!

If you are a busy bee like me and like to find things that are quick, easy and healthy to use then you really need to give Holy Moly dips a go! They would also be perfect at parties!
