Mexico Part Three

Picture
Ah, Mexico...
You seem like such a distant dream already! It's only been a day since I left but after one full day back at work it feels like it was so long ago! Although, the tiredness is still pretty real!
The third and final part of my Mexico series consists of lots of chilling out, plenty of indulgence and a tour of a greenhouse! I know, a greenhouse tour?! Totally got you griped now right?!

Thursday (Day Eight)

After two 'full on' days at the start of the week it was certainly chill time today! We didn't really plan anything apart from chilling in our favourite little spot on the beach. We headed down to grab some towels and breakfast around 8.30am. I wasn't feeling all that hungry this morning so I simply had a Muesli Pot- Muesli mixed with Shredded Coconut, Lemon and Yoghurt. It was delicious!
Following on from breakfast we just chilled on the beach until 4pm. There was some serious napping happening throughout the day haha.
We both then decided we probably had done enough sitting around for one day so headed back to the room, got changed and went to the gym for a quick session. I did an all over body workout as it had been a few days since we had been to the gym and I prefer full body workouts with lots of supersets and short HIIT sessions when travelling.

When we returned to the room after the gym there was a knock at the door. A lovely lady asked if we would like some towel art for our bed. Who were we to say no?! We watched as she made two swans and then decorated the bed with loads of rose petals! It was so cute, I mean, just look at it!! N'awww.
The rest of the evening is pretty much just get dinner! We headed to one of the restaurants further away from our room this evening- Kampai. This cuisine was Pacific Rim so think Japanese/Asian food. I had a Prawn Rice Paper Roll to start and the Chicken Noodles.  This was followed by an IN-credible Green Tea Cheesecake! Seriously it was so delicious!

Friday (Day Nine)

This morning we headed around a tour of the whole resort. We were shown the Presidential Suites and the other style rooms they had. We were also taken to the resort next door as it's owned by the same people- we saw one of their rooms and that was very nice! All rooms were swim up no matter what floor they were on! It was pretty cool!
After our little tour it was more chill time- yay! Back to the beach we went for another day of relaxing. It pretty much went the same way as yesterday- chill until about 4pm, then gym time.
Following on from this is was a case of shower and dinner! We went to Cocotal as we hadn't eaten there yet in the evenings. I ordered a Smoked Salmon Roll with Spinach, Chicken stuffed with Spinach and Mushrooms with a Blue Cheese Sauce and then Warm Berries and Custard with Ice Cream. Apart from the starter which I wasn't all that impressed with (simply because it was just a bit of salmon and like 3 spinach leaves) the food was stupidly nice! It made us wish we had eaten there before now! Pudding was the most incredible custard!! The best I've ever tasted! It went so well with the warm berries. Shame there wasn't more!

Saturday (Day 10 and Last Day)

Our last day!! This was a very unhappy thought. But, to be honest, I was looking forward to home and routine at this point.
We started the day by grabbing a quick breakfast of Smoked Salmon, Scrambled Eggs and Toast before heading on the Greenhouse tour. I had been really looking forward to this as I was very interested to know what is grown in-house for the guests. The tour was pretty damn awesome. We learnt so much more about the resort which was pretty incredible. Let me tell you a few facts about them-
They grow their own fruits, vegetables and herbs, including- 3 types of tomatoes, 2 types of cucumbers, peppers, papaya, melons, strawberries, mint and parsley.
They are growing their very own coral reef along the beach.
They help sea turtles by having a designated area on the beach for them to lay their eggs so the baby turtles have the best chance of survival. If they are seen laying their eggs where people can go they move the eggs to the designated area to protect them.
They supply all other hotels in the area with the fruits and vegetables they grow- and it's all for free.
The have helped and rescued other animals and now have adopted two dogs through rescuing them.
They are officially branded as an Eco Hotel for all of the amazing work they do for the environment.
How awesome are they?!?!
When we returned to the hotel we thought we had better make the most of the sunshine! Again we chilled for a few hours and then went to the gym. This time when we came back to the room we had a lovely bottle of champers waiting and a towel art dog!!
Isn't he just the cutest?

We got showered, changed and then headed out to dinner. We had reservations at the Italian. Remember the special dinner I told you about in part one? Well tonight was the night. We had no idea what to expect but we got glammed up and headed down.
When we arrived we were greeted and taken to our table. Oh my goodness it was just the loveliest little gesture from Filipe, the waiter that had organised it for us. The table was covered in flowers, each individually placed for us. So much effort had gone into it.
The evening was just the best- good food and great wine. We also met the most friendliest and nicest Canadian people who were sat on the table next to us. We chatted with them the whole night and it was amazing to hear about Canada and the wildlife they have! I've added Canada to my bucket list now because they made it sound so incredible! Thank you Canadian people! :)
Anyway, dinner was spectacular of course- Tomatoes and Mozzarella, Salmon with Mushrooms and Spinach and also some Mushroom Risotto that we shared. For pudding it was Chocolate Cannelloni filled with Almond Crème and Pistachios- AMAZING!
Then we were both given a glass of fizz at the end of the meal to finish the celebration.
It really was the perfect way to end the honeymoon and we cannot thank Filipe enough for his seriously kind gestures and amazing experience for dinner.

So, that's all for Mexico! It was the holiday of a lifetime and the most chilled I've been in a long time! Honestly if you ever want to head to Mexico for a chilled out holiday and are unsure where to stay then El Dorado Royal is the one for you! The friendliest people, the most beautiful grounds and surroundings and the food options are just amazing!

I hope you enjoyed reading about my honeymoon as much as I enjoyed writing about it!
