One Month Off: Am I Ready To Be Back?
If you guys follow me on social media, or even if you don't and only follow my blog, you may have realised that I haven't posted any new content on my blog for a little while. There is a very good reason for this; I took a month off from blogging.
When it comes to blogging, social media and well, any job where you are your own boss it can be hard to switch off and take some time to yourself. You feel obligated to always think about work and work all hours of the day. It can also be difficult to prioritise what needs 100% focus and attention and it's often easy to just do the 'more fun' bits instead.
If you are a blogger or social media is your job, you probably have something else on the go too. For me I am a personal trainer, F45 Training coach, healthy recipe developer and subscription box service owner as well as a blogger.
In September I had all of the above going on in my life as well as you know, just living my life and spending time with the people I love and it all got a little bit too much. I found I was spreading myself far too thinly over all parts of my work which in turn meant that I wasn't really seeing much progress in any areas of my business. Considering the amount of work I was doing nothing seemed to be moving forward. I was constantly tired, my concentration levels were poor and I honestly just wanted to give up on everything.
Something had to give...
The decision to take time off from my blog wasn't easy. My blog is my baby and it's what started everything that I am and do today. It's the place on the Internet for me to share pretty much everything and anything and not writing and posting for one month wasn't going to be easy for me. But this was the area that I was struggling with most, creativity wise, so it was clear what I had to do.
I decided to take the whole month of October off to give myself a break and really be able to focus wholeheartedly on a couple of select areas of my work; personal training/classes and WonderBox UK (my subscription box service).
