virtue energy drinks review

Virtue Drinks make energy drinks containing zero sugars, zero calories and no sweeteners. Each can of Virtue contains the same amount of natural caffeine as a cup of coffee (80mg).
How is this possible? The energy comes from natural sources including yerba mate, ginseng and guarana. Let me tell you a little bit about these energy boosting natural ingredients-

Yerba Mate- Yerba Mate is a natural antioxidant powerhouse containing 24 vitamins & minerals and 15 amino acids. Yerba Mate contains more antioxidants than green tea!

Guarana- Guarana is an Amazonian berry which contains twice as much caffeine as green coffee beans.

Ginseng- Ginseng has been used for centuries as a medicinal herb and for it's energising properties.

my thoughts

I decided to try the Berries flavour first. I took it to work with me as I sometimes need a little energy boost around 4.30pm to get me through the last hour and a half of work. Before tasting I had a little smell of the drink- it smells REALLY berry like! This was good as I'm not great if things don't smell like they are supposed to! I took a sip and expected quite a hit of berry flavour.
At first I didn't really taste a great deal of flavour, which was a little disappointing, but as I started to take more sips of it I could start to taste the berry flavour. It wasn't as powerful as I'd hoped but the flavour was still good and it was nice to drink.

I tried the Lemon and Lime flavour the following day before a HIIT and Yoga class. When opening this flavour I was immediately hit by the citrusy smell. I took and sip and this definitely caught my taste buds instantly. The flavour is stronger than the Berries flavour and definitely more noticeable. Again, a very good flavour and easy to drink.

My favourite flavour out of both is definitely Lemon and Lime. Both flavours are refreshing and easy to drink. They don't leave some weird aftertaste behind after you've finished either which a lot of health products can.

As for energy- the drinks did give me a little boost which was nice. I noticed it more when I drank the Berries flavour but I think this was simply because I was a little more tired that day. I like that you don't get a big surge of energy- you simply get a little pick-me-up which is perfect. I would definitely use Virtue again when I'm need of that little energy boost or even just as a refreshing drink on a warm day.

Charity work

Virtue Drinks donate water for every drink they sell. As their website states-

"We are committed to spreading positivity and for every one of our drinks sold, we donate 500L of clean drinking water to those in need. With our charity partners at drop4drop we fund sustainable clean water solutions to countries that need it most. We demand accountable, effective and efficient provision of clean water.
“Access to clean water transforms lives, creates opportunities and lays the foundations to a brighter future. Be part of the solution.”"

I love it when a brand gets involved in charity work and giving back to the people that really need it.
