a weekend in london

Picture
A couple of weekends ago I went to London with Karl to just get away from all the hustle and bustle of our usual life. I tried to make the weekend as healthy as I could so I pre-planned a couple of places to go and eat before we headed down :).
We went down on the Friday after work so by the time we got to the hotel it was around 7.30pm. We literally just kicked back, watched a bit of telly and then had an early night.

Saturday

The next morning we got up and headed out for breakfast. We decided to head to a place called We are Squirrel. It serves healthy and nutritious foods and is amazing inside....it's like sitting in a treehouse!! I had the poached egg pot with quinoa, sweet potato and salad and a coconut yoghurt with a berry compote and granola. Amazing!
After our amazing brekkie we headed for a walk through Hyde Park where we discovered WINTER WONDERLAND!
This was super exciting so we definitely had to go in and take a look around!
Obviously it was just far too much fun to take too many photos! Loads of food, drinks, a ride on the big wheel and a few games later we finally decided to head on through to Oxford Street to see the Christmas lights!!
It was obviously heaving so I only managed one picture of sonme lights before heading in to Selfridges for some proseccoooo!!
After all this fun it was back to the hotel and a quick change before heading out to dinner at Island London. The food was incredible! Smoked salmon and scallops to start followed by a delicious steak with courgette fritters and sweet potato fries..uhhh-mazing!

Sunday

Today was the day to head home :(
but...
we had enough time for some breakfast at Bodyism Cafe Notting Hill!!!
Obviosuly we went for the pancakes because, well..who wouldn't?!?!

The whole weekend was pretty damn amazing!
So much so that we booked to go back again for New Year!!!

Made you want a few nights away? If London is somewhere you fancy visiting or just fancy an evening somewhere else in the beautiful U.K. then why not follow the link below to book? A cheeky little night away is never a bad idea!
